Admissions Lottery

East Mountain High School is a public charter school and enrolls new students through a lottery process, pursuant to the New Mexico Charter School Law.
 

Lottery Information for the 2023-2024 School Year
 

The lottery period for the 2023-2024 school year will be held from Wednesday, February 1, 2023, through Thursday, February 16, 2023. Lottery Enrollment Forms will be completed online at the East Mountain High School website during this timeframe. Siblings of currently attending EMHS students receive preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Enrollment Form by the February 16 deadline. At EMHS, a sibling is defined as a student who shares at least one biological parent or legal guardian and lives at least 50% of the time in the same household as a current EMHS student. A sibling forfeits the automatic enrollment preference if the February 16 deadline is missed; the student will be placed at the bottom of the Waiting List established at the Lottery Drawing.

 

Students who were on the 2022-2023 Waiting List must submit a new Lottery Enrollment Form for the 2023-2024 Lottery Drawing.

All lottery forms must be submitted between February 1 and February 16. The lottery drawing will be held via Zoom on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 5PM to establish class enrollments and waiting list order for the 2023-2024 school year. We will email families a link to watch the Zoom live for those who would like to watch. However, logging in to the Zoom is not required.
