Laurel LeGate

Humanities Instructor

Laurel has had a pretty interesting career in the field of education over the past 20 years. She is proud of the fact that she has taught almost every single age of person from babies to seasoned fellow teachers at CNM. She has spent the most time teaching middle school Humanities and so is feeling pretty “at home” with her freshmen. She’s done lots of online teaching, primarily to students in China. She grew up in Salt Lake City, but has lived in Canada, Washington, Oregon, France, Argentina and Russia briefly. And somehow she also managed, while she was doing all that, to become a mom to two incredible daughters who are in elementary and middle school. Their dad, Greg, is an ecologist and they also house and feed two dogs and two guinea pigs, Pythagorus (Pi) and Fig Newton (Figgie). Laurel loves English and History and Art a lot, but really Education is her favorite subject. She loves being a teacher and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
