Admissions Lottery

Admissions Lottery

East Mountain High School is a public charter school and enrolls new students through a lottery process, pursuant to the New Mexico Charter School Law.

Most Recent Lottery Information
The Lottery Period for the 2022-2023 school year was Tuesday, February 8, 2022, through Friday, March 11, 2022. Lottery Enrollment Forms were completed online at the East Mountain High School website. Siblings of currently attending EMHS students received preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Enrollment Form by the March 11 deadline. At EMHS, a sibling is defined as one who shares at least one biological parent or legal guardian and lives at least 50% of the time in the same household as a current EMHS student. A sibling forfeits the automatic enrollment preference if the March 11 deadline is missed, so the student will be placed at the bottom of the Waiting List established at the Lottery Drawing.

The Lottery Drawing was held on Wednesday, March 16 at 5PM to establish class enrollments and waiting list order for the 2022-2023 school year. For any questions about the Lottery or enrollment, please contact Registrar Carol Wirth at
