Hallie Brown, Class of 2014
One of our outstanding alums, Hallie Brown, has been awarded the prestigious Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. This scholarship is allowing Hallie to spend this summer at UCLA researching the human rights and gender impacts of informal labor within a migrant population of head porters, called the Kayayei, in Southern Ghana.
“EMHS made me college ready in many different capacities, which enabled me to succeed in my first two years of my undergrad and qualify for this program. EMHS taught me how to advocate for myself and for what I believe in, which has become a vital tool for defending my own research interests.”
