Seven EMHS Students Qualify to National Speech and Debate Tournament

Seven students will represent EMHS at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in Salt Lake City, UT June 12-18. They earned this qualification spot after winning first place in their respective events at the New Mexico District Tournament.

Senior Matt Bedeaux was named the Student of the Year for the New Mexico District and now moves on to compete for National Student of the Year. Matt also qualified to Nationals in Informative Speaking.
Senior Ben Lopez qualified in Original Oratory.
Senior Ethan Wade qualified in Congressional Debate.
Junior Sofia Hoskins qualified in Congressional Debate.
Juniors Jessie Linder and Chloe Hecht qualified in World Schools Debate.
Sophomore Gina Sanchez qualified in Congressional Debate.
Freshman Tiffany Delgado was named an Alternate in Congressional Debate.
