East Mountain High School invites you to the tenth annual Light the Night holiday celebration on Friday, December 11 from 5:30 – 9:30pm at the Fisher and Smith Memorial Gymnasium at 15 La Madera Road, Sandia Park. Beginning November 15, students will receive their fundraising envelopes for Light the Night through their advocacies. The SPSO asks each student to try to get $20.00 in donations. If students do this, we will easily meet our goal of raising $5,000! Also, remember that students get 50% of the money they raise back to help them pay for their Discovery Projects. Plus, every student who brings in at least $20.00 of Light the Night fundraising will be entered into a raffle drawing for up to $250 towards the Discovery Project of his or her choice. Other ways that parents can help include donating baked goods for the silent auction, donating paper bags and votive candles for the luminaria and volunteering that night to help set-up or clean-up after the event. To volunteer or donate, please contact Lori Webster at email@example.com or 505-281-7400 x. 168. At Light the Night, over 5,000 glowing luminaria will decorate the East Mountain High School campus, one for every dollar received in donations from the community. Come to see the luminaria and stay for the holiday music, hot cocoa and cookies, auction, and holiday shopping! Over a dozen arts and crafts vendors will be there to make finding the perfect gift easy. The East Mountain High School Music Department Winter Concert begins at 7:00pm. Under the direction of Michael Wood, the Beginning and Intermediate Guitar classes will perform a selection of original compositions. There is no charge to attend this concert.
Please join the SPSO at Light the Night for this fantastic, fun event and show your East Mountain pride by supporting our school. Let’s “Light the Night” together with the light of education.
