ANNOUNCEMENT: Monique Siedschlag’s Retirement, Principal Search Underway
Date: January 17, 2019

Dear Constituents of EMHS,
We are sad to report that Mrs. Monique Siedschlag has decided to retire at the end of the school year. The Governing Council and faculty are disappointed to lose such an effective administrator who has worked tirelessly on behalf of students and their families.
Because of Monique’s dedication and leadership these last five years, we have continued our streak of seven straight years of receiving an “A” letter grade from the PED. In addition, we were the only high school in the state to receive the Blue-Ribbon Award from the Department of Education for closing the achievement gap.

Mrs. S., you will be missed! Thank you for going the extra mile for students. Thanks for caring more than you have to. Thanks for these last four plus years. We are proud of the legacy of excellence that you will leave.
Of course, this decision puts in motion a very important process for finding a new principal. The Governing Council recognizes the importance of this decision for the continued success of EMHS. For that reason, we wanted to let you know some of our search plans.

The application will remain open until the position is filled. The job opening has been posted on multiple educationally-based job sites as of January 17. If you know someone interested in this position, please go to http://www.eastmountainhigh.net/principal-search/

The GC has formed an 11-person search committee made up of representatives from the Governing Council, Administration, Faculty, Foundation Board, Students, and Parents. Members of this committee include: Brent McCall (Chair), Brad Hosmer (Vice-Chair), Karen Thompson, Doug Darner, Amanda Millea, Nancy Holmquist, Michael Wood, Diane Ball, Donna Hileman, Eli Gonzalez, Elveta Bishop.

This group is tasked with developing job posting material, receiving applications and reducing what we hope is a large pool of candidates to a manageable list of finalists who will be considered in face to face interviews. The search committee will conduct face to face interviews and submit their recommendations to the Governing Council who will make the decision on our next Principal. The GC goals is to have a final decision made in May.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me at brent@presentationimpact.com.
Very Best Regards,
Brent McCall, Ph.D.
