EMHS Teacher Jesse Schwebach Earns National Board Certification

East Mountain High School Humanities Instructor Jesse Schwebach has earned the prestigious National Board certification.

National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain, and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is considered the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education.

Jesse Schwebach joins the ranks of four other National Board teachers at EMHS: Brenda Wilvert, Dr. Diane Ball, Laura Berlin, and Crystal Wood.

To receive National Board certification, a teacher must complete a rigorous program of reflection on their teaching practice, including a close examination of student work, recording video of their classroom lessons, and providing leadership to their colleagues.

On completing this achievement, Mr. Schwebach noted: “the process encouraged a great deal of reflection upon teaching choices and underlying rationale–things I rarely ponder explicitly, but I found it to be rewarding and insightful.”
