Test Dates for the ACT

The following is a list of the test dates and registration deadlines for the 2011 – 2012 ACT:

Fees for the ACT

The cost of the ACT is $34 without the writing test and $49.50 with the writing test.

The December, April and June ACT tests offer students the opportunity to “buy back” their test. When students order and pay the fee for Test Information Release (TIR) and test on a test date that offers this service, students will receive a list of their answers, a copy of the multiple-choice test questions used to determine their score, the answer key, and scoring instructions. (If students took the Writing Test, they will also receive a copy of the writing prompt, the scoring rubric, and the scores assigned to their essay by two readers.) Students will also receive information about ordering a photocopy of their answer document (including the essay if they took the Writing Test). The TIR fee for 2010–2011 test dates is $18. This can be done during the three month period after the test date and does not need to be ordered when registering for the ACT.

If you miss the registration date, you can still register for 14 DAYS after the registration date by paying a $21 late fee.

Registration Information for the ACT

Families must register directly through ACT, not EMHS. Registration is available on-line at www.actstudent.org. A credit card is needed for all on-line registrations. If you have any questions or need help registering, please see Mrs. Millea or Mrs. Davis.

In April 2012, the East Mountain High School will pay for all juniors to take the ACT at East Mountain High School. Other than that date, the ACT is not offered at EMHS. The School Code for EMHS is 320-588. Families will need this code when registering for the ACT.

Fees for the SAT

The cost of the SAT is $47 for the SAT Reasoning Test and $21 for the Subject Tests.

The October, January and May SAT tests offer students the opportunity to “buy back” their test. When students order and pay the fee for Question-and-Answer Service (QAS) and test on a date that offers this service, students will receive their test questions, the correct answers, scoring instructions. For all the questions, students get the question type; level of difficulty; and whether they answered correctly, incorrectly, or omitted the answer. Students can order QAS when they register for the test, or when they receive their SAT scores. QAS can be ordered up to five months after the test date. The fee for the service is $18.
