The East Mountain High School Foundation thanks you for joining us at the Eleventh Annual Corley’s Albuquerque Lincoln●Volvo Night Under the Stars Gala on August 27, 2011!
Presenting sponsor Eddie Corley hosted an extravaganza at the Paa-ko Ridge Golf Club in Sandia Park, including gourmet hors d’oeuvres by the Paa-ko Grille and the Slate Street Cafe, a cash bar, musical entertainment from Richard Atkins, fantastic silent and live auctions featuring dozens of items from local businesses. Tom Croston was the winner in the drawing for a trip for two to the La Costa Spa and Resort in California.
A major part of the gala was a fabulous silent and live auction. This year, the auction featured over ten original works of Acoma pottery by SWIA best of class winner Robert Patricio. Over 100 businesses and individuals donated to the auction, helping the Foundation to raise over $20,000. Click here to see a list of the generous donors to the auction, and support the local businesses who support East Mountain High School.
Attendees of the Night Under the Stars Gala also enjoyed viewing the Corley’s Million Dollar and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Hole-in-One Contests. Golfers who previously qualified for the Hole-in-One Contests took their chance at shooting for a hole-in-one and the grand prize of either a million dollars or a brand new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Unfortunately, no one walked away this year with a new car or a million dollars.
New this year to the festivities was the inaugural Corley’s Albuquerque Lincoln●Volvo Golf Tournament. Held on Thursday, August 25th, golfers played the award-winning Paa-ko Ridge Golf Club using a four-person scramble format. Prizes for the first, second, third and last place teams were awarded, with the team led by Larry Magid finishing in first place. Golfers playing in the tournament had the opportunity to qualify to shoot in the Million Dollar and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid Hole-in-One Contest on the night of the Gala.
Proceeds from this annual event benefited the East Mountain High School, one of New Mexico's premier charter high schools. State funding currently leaves a gap of more than $1000 per student. Your donation helped us close that gap and made a college-preparatory education available to another student.
