Van’s Custom Culture Grant

EMHS-Giving-Grant-cc-logoEast Mountain High School is proud to announce that it is one of ten schools across the country to receive a $2,000 grant from the Vans Custom Culture program. The Vans Custom Culture Grant is awarded to only ten high schools across the country that include the arts as an integral component of an excellent education and to support activities that are consistent with national learning standards for arts education. East Mountain High School will use the funding to support its innovative recording arts program, including repairing and replacing broken instruments and purchasing new recording equipment. The Recording Arts program, led by instructor Michael Wood, takes students through the process of writing their own music and lyrics, performing their own songs and recording a CD of their original compositions each year.
