East Mountain High School has advanced over Vermilion High School of Ohio in in the International Public Policy Forum on a 3-0 decision in the Round of 32. In the Round of 64, EMHS defeated Generation’s School of Karachi, Pakistan in the International Public Policy Forum. Seniors Gina Sanchez and Juniors Hannah Linder and Tiffany Delgado defeated the international school on the topic: “Resolved: International climate accords for greenhouse gas emissions should adopt binding enforcement mechanisms.”
EMHS now faces Greenwich High School from Connecticut in the Round of 16.
If Gina, Tiffany, and Hannah win this round, the final 8 teams receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City to debate the remaining teams in person. This is the 6th year EMHS has been named one of the top debate teams in the world.
