Registration is only for returning students and those admitted through the 2018-2019 lottery. Please click here if you need to apply for admission.

Registration Paperwork Online
Summer is almost over, and it is time to get into the swing of things! As always, we are looking forward to another exciting year. Below you will find important information regarding registration and the beginning of the school year. Please read this letter closely.
Registration Dates & Times: Mandatory, in-person registration will take place on Friday, August 10 for ALL students and will be held from 11:30am – 5:30pm. At least one parent/legal guardian MUST register their child(ren); students may NOT register themselves, even if they are 18 years old. Station 1 will start in Room 306 in Building 3.
Although much of the paperwork will be done online prior to registration day, families should still plan their day accordingly.
Families unable to attend registration on August 10 must contact Carol Wirth, Registrar, at email@example.com. She will hold an alternate registration session before school from 8:00am – 10:00am on Tuesday, August 14. Additional registration dates or times cannot be accommodated.
Registration Paperwork Online: EMHS partners with SchoolMint to offer families the opportunity to fill out most of the registration paperwork online. There are still several forms that must be filled out in person on registration day on August 10. You will receive an email on August 1 with information on how to access the program. SchoolMint will combine siblings, so families will only need one account. The program allows for your information to be updated in PowerSchool electronically instead of by hand. The online registration forms will be available from Wednesday, August 1 – Wednesday, August 8 at 11:59PM. Families unable to meet these dates must fill out the registration information online on registration day at EMHS. Please save yourself time on registration day by filling out the forms online in advance.
Payment Online: Before starting the SchoolMint process, families will be asked to first access the EMHS website to securely pay for fees online with a debit or credit card. This will be a multi-step process because families will have to also go into the SchoolMint account to complete the registration paperwork process. Please take advantage of the online payment option as it will save you time on registration day. The online payment link will also be available from Wednesday, August 1 – Wednesday, August 8 at 11:59PM.
Please use the following process:
- Access the EMHS website to pay the required registration fee and other fees (i.e. athletic, PACK membership, technology donations, etc). (You must do this even if you plan to pay the fees on Registration Day instead of online.) You will select “None/Pay at registration”. We will be keeping track of those who paid prior to August 10 and those who need to pay at registration.
- Access your student’s SchoolMint Account. (Login information provided in an email on August 1.)
- Fill out the required forms online and submit.
Payment on Registration Day (8/10): If families choose to pay on registration day, you may do so with cash, check or debit or credit card. If paying with cash, please try to have close to the amount needed, as there is not a lot of cash available for change. Checks should be made payable to EMHS and must not be post-dated.
Please be advised: Those who pay on registration day with a check must write several checks because they are deposited into different accounts. You will need a separate check for registration fees, PACK membership dues, athletic fees, raffle tickets for the Winner’s Choice Vacation Raffle, etc. If families pay online, you may complete one transaction and avoid the writing of numerous checks.
Registration Fees: There is a $70 (one student)/$120 (two students)/$170 (three students) Registration Fee due when your child(ren) register(s). There is a mandatory Senior Fee of $25 that must be paid online or at registration. The Registration Fee offsets expenses, such as, but not limited to: parking permits, registration supplies, student handbooks, ID cards, report card mailings, and computer and printing supplies. If you are unable to pay the Registration Fee in full, please make arrangements for a payment plan with Gwen Brown, Office Manager, at extension 114 or firstname.lastname@example.org. It is recommended you do so in advance.
Technology donations are appreciated and will also be accepted online and at registration. We are grateful for any monetary donations families can make to help EMHS provide students with access to technology. EMHS has several computer labs and laptop carts for student use. Technology donations help pay for items such as, but not limited to: repairs, mice, power cords, software to block inappropriate websites, printer ink and copy paper. EMHS does not limit the number of copies teachers or students make, and your donations help us make this happen! Donations are tax deductible.
Holds: Holds will be placed on a student’s registration until all fines are paid, books and/or uniforms are returned (or paid for), and Next Step Plans are on file from the previous school year. Families should take care of this prior to registration to avoid any delays. EMHS is open Monday through Friday from 8am – 4pm.
Additional Information: Information will also be available regarding car pools, PowerSchool web-based access for grades and attendance, volunteer opportunities, and school clubs & activities, etc. The PACK will also sell school spirit items and supplies.
Donations Request: We are grateful for any donations that families are able to make. Donations can be made to fulfill volunteer hours at the rate of $8.50 per hour. Items that are particularly useful include: facial tissue, paper towels, copy paper, hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.
Schedules: Students will receive their class schedule from their Advocate as the last part of the registration process. Families will be able to walk through the campus and find where the classes are located. If a student wishes to request a schedule change, he/she will be required to complete a Schedule Change Request Form, which will include an explanation for the change, as well as a parent’s signature. Teacher signatures will only be required after classes have started. No schedule changes will be made on Friday. Students may check PowerSchool Monday evening (7/13) to see if their change request was made. Students may also pick up a copy of their new schedule on Tuesday morning before 1st Period. Please remember that schedule changes must be made during the first three (3) days of the term, so students have until Thursday, August 16 to attempt to drop or add a course. Not all schedule change requests will be granted because they depend on space availability and balancing of classes. Families are encouraged to drop off the Schedule Change Request Form. Those with specific questions may meet with Monique Siedschlag, Principal, (freshmen & sophomores) or Amanda Millea, Assistant Principal, (juniors & seniors) to discuss the requested change.
Students Enrolled in CNM Classes on the EMHS Campus: Representatives from CNM will be in the Portable 2 Computer Labs during registration to help students register for their dual credit class(es) before school begins.
Students enrolled this fall in CSE 1101, ENG 1101, ENG 1102, FIN 1010, MATH 1310, MATH 1315, PHYS 1010 and PSY 1105 must register at this time. All students must have applied to CNM and have appropriate Accuplacer/ACT scores. CNM representatives will help with removing holds, myCNM password issues, and other registration questions.
All sophomores will take College Success this year, so students must apply to CNM before school starts, even if they do not have College Success until the spring. If not done in advance, sophomores must apply to CNM on registration day; students must have their Social Security Number. The application process takes about 45 minutes. Remember, it will save time on registration day if students apply to CNM in advance.
Community Service: Bird Podzemny, Student Advisor, will be available in Room 407 to help students and families with any community service or discipline related questions. She can help sophomores, juniors and seniors access x2VOL to log hours if needed. (Freshmen and transfers will receive their x2VOL accounts to log their community service hours once school starts.)
EMHS Gala & Parent Volunteers: Trey Smith, Development Director, will be available in the Building 2 Workroom (1st door on the left) to collect donated items for the silent auction at the Gala. He is also available to answer any parent volunteer related questions.
School Calendar: The detailed 2018 – 2019 School Calendar will be available at registration. Also remember to access the EMHS website for up-to-date events under News à Events/Calendar.
Daily Class Schedule: The first bell rings at 8:10am and class begins promptly at 8:15am. Please arrive on time each day. The school day ends at 3:35pm. Classes are 90 minutes, passing periods are 5 minutes, Advocacy is 25 minutes and lunch is 35 minutes. Advocacy is held after 2nd period. The Early Release Wednesday schedule includes 65 minute classes and has a dismissal time of 1:30pm. Advocacy does not meet on Wednesdays. Additionally, the daily schedule is available on the EMHS website under Students à Daily Schedules.
Welcome Back Bash: The first day of classes is Tuesday, August, 14. Freshmen and new students will have an orientation in the morning. There will be an all school assembly at 10:00am in the gym. The PACK will sponsor the Welcome Back Bash and provide lunch. Families are encouraged and welcome to attend! Students will then attend Advocacy and each of their four classes in the afternoon with dismissal at 3:35pm.

Summer Reading: This is a friendly reminder that ALL students have a summer reading assignment for their English class. Please be sure to have the reading completed by August 14. Information is available on the EMHS website under Students à Summer Reading.
School Supplies List: A list of supplies needed for various classes is available on the EMHS website under Academics à School Supplies. Although student schedules are not available until registration day (and the school supplies list is by teacher), students should get general supplies (binder, notebooks, dividers, paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, composition books, etc.) and then fill in with teacher specific supplies after they receive their schedules.
Carpooling: Carpooling information is available on the EMHS website under Students à Carpooling. Families may enter the days and times a carpool is needed and the carpool coordinator will help connect you with other families in your area.
Lockers: Lockers will be available on registration day on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will form a line in Building 1 and will be assigned a locker. Students must bring a combination lock on registration day in order to be assigned a locker. We will record the locker number and lock combination.
Parking Permits: There is no cost for a parking permit. However, a 2018-2019 EMHS Parking Permit is required for all students who wish to park on the EMHS Campus or at the Vista Grande Soccer Field. Parking permits will NOT be available at registration. Students will be able to get their permit during the first two weeks of the school year. Students must provide the following required documents: (1) Copy of valid driver’s license, (2) Copy of current proof of vehicle registration, and (3) Copy of current proof of insurance. Current proof of registration and insurance must be provided for each vehicle a student may drive.
Dual Credit at CNM, ENMU or UNM: Students earn high school elective credit and college credit through courses taken as dual credit. All classes are FREE and EMHS will reimburse families for the cost of the textbook; families must pay for any additional course fees. Please contact Mrs. Millea for more information. Registration is currently underway. Classes fill up quickly, so now is the best time to register.
- Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to enroll at CNM. Fall classes start on Monday, August 27 and the last day to register for full-term classes is Sunday, August 26. There are also several short-term classes that start in September or October.
- Junior and seniors are eligible to enroll online at ENMU. Fall classes begin on Tuesday, August 21 and the last day to register is Tuesday, August 28. The enrollment application must go through Mrs. Millea and it takes several days for ENMU to process.
- Juniors and seniors are eligible to enroll at UNM. Fall classes begin on Monday, August 20 and the last day to register is Friday, August 31. The enrollment application must go through Mrs. Millea and it takes several weeks for UNM to process, so please prepare early for dual credit classes at UNM.
