Registration Paperwork Online
EMHS is excited to offer families the opportunity to fill out most of the registration paperwork online! Please access the 2016-2017 Registration Forms button on the EMHS website at www.eastmountainhigh.net. You must fill out the registration information for EACH child separately. Families will also have the opportunity to securely pay for fees online with a debit or credit card. You may also choose to pay with cash, check or debit or credit card on registration day. The online registration form will be available from Tuesday, July 19 – Tuesday, August 2 at 11:59PM. Families unable to meet these dates must fill out the registration information online on registration day at EMHS.
Registration Dates & Times
In-person registration will take place on Friday, August 5th for ALL students and will be held from 11:30am – 5:30pm. At least one parent/legal guardian MUST register their child(ren); students may NOT register themselves, even if they are 18 years old.
Families must visit several stations, including SPSO, Development and Discipline Procedures/Student Handbook and meet with the Advocate. Although much of the paperwork will be done online prior to registration day, families should still plan their day accordingly.
Families unable to attend registration must contact Registrar Carol Wirth at extension 165 or email@example.com to schedule an alternate appointment before school on Monday, August 8. Alternate registration dates before August 5 cannot be accommodated.
Holds will be placed on a student’s registration until all fines are paid, books and/or uniforms are returned (or paid for), and Next Step Plans are on file from the previous school year. Families should take care of this prior to registration to avoid any delays. EMHS is open Monday through Friday from 8am – 4pm.
There is a $70 (one student)/$120 (two students)/$170 (three students) Registration Fee due when your child(ren) register(s). The Registration Fee offsets expenses, such as, but not limited to: parking permits, registration supplies, student handbooks, ID cards, report card mailings, and computer and printing supplies. If you are unable to pay the Registration Fee in full, please make arrangements for a payment plan with Office Manager Gwen Brown at extension 114 or firstname.lastname@example.org. It is recommended you do so in advance.
Technology donations of $100 will also be accepted online and at registration. We are grateful for any monetary donations families can make to help EMHS provide students with access to technology. EMHS has several computer labs and laptop carts for student use. Technology donations help pay for items such as, but not limited to: repairs, software to block inappropriate websites, printer ink and copy paper. EMHS does not limit the number of copies teachers or students make, and your donations help us make this happen! Donations are tax deductible.
EMHS accepts cash, check and credit or debit card payments. If paying with cash, please try to have close to the amount needed, as there is not a lot of cash available for change. Checks should be made payable to EMHS and must not be post-dated.
Information will also be available regarding car pools, PowerSchool web-based access for grades and attendance, volunteer opportunities, and school clubs & activities, etc. The EMHS SPSO will also sell school spirit items and supplies in The Den. Vista Grande Community Center will have information available regarding the after school teen program and the workout facility.
Every year EMHS uses a great deal of paper products – toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissue, and copy paper. We are requesting that families donate two (2) reams of copy paper, two (2) rolls of paper towels, and two (2) boxes of facial tissue. We are extremely grateful for your generosity and your donations will help the school continue to offer printing services to students, as well as have paper towels and tissue readily available in each classroom. If each family makes the donation, the school could save about $2,500! Please bring the donated items to your child’s Advocate on August 5th or the first day of school. Additionally, we are in need of #10 self-adhesive envelopes.
Students will receive their class schedule from their Advocate as the last part of the registration process. Families will be able to walk through the campus and find where the classes are located. If a student wishes to request a schedule change, he/she will be required to complete a Schedule Change Request Form, which will include an explanation for the change, as well as a parent’s signature. Teacher signatures will only be required after classes have started. No schedule changes will be made on Friday. Students may check PowerSchool over the weekend to see if their change request was made. Students may also pick up a copy of their new schedule on Monday morning before 1st period. Please remember that schedule changes must be made during the first three (3) days of the term, so students have until Wednesday, August 10th to attempt to drop or add a course. Not all schedule change requests will be granted because they depend on space availability in classes. Families are encouraged to drop off the Schedule Change Request Form. Those with specific questions may meet with Mrs. Siedschlag (freshmen & sophomores) or Mrs. Millea (juniors & seniors) to discuss the requested change.
Student Enrolled in CNM Classes on the EMHS Campus
Representatives from CNM will be on campus during registration to help students register for their dual credit class(es). Students enrolled in CSE 1101, ENG 1101, ENG 1102, FIN 1010, MATH 1310, MATH 1315, PHYS 1010 and PSY 1105 must stop by Portable 2 to register for these classes. All students must have applied to CNM and have appropriate Accuplacer/ACT scores. CNM representatives will be on hand from 11:30am – 5pm to help with removing holds, myCNM password issues, and other registration questions. The reps are available, so please take advantage of their help and register for your dual credit classes before school begins. This will save us all time in the end!
There is no cost for the parking permit this year. However, a 2016-2017 EMHS Parking Permit is required for all students who wish to park on the EMHS Campus or at the Vista Grande Soccer Field. Parking permits will be available at registration in the Building 2 Hallway. Students must provide the following required documents: (1) Copy of valid driver’s license, (2) Copy of current proof of vehicle registration, and (3) Copy of current proof of insurance. Current proof of registration and insurance must provided for each vehicle a student may drive.
The detailed 2016 – 2017 School Calendar will be available at registration. Also remember to access the EMHS website for up-to-date events under News > School Calendar.
Welcome Back Bash
The first day of classes is Monday, August, 8th. Freshmen and new students will have an orientation from 8:15am – 10:00am. There will be an all school assembly from 10:00am – 10:45am at the gym. SPSO will sponsor the Welcome Back Bash and provide lunch from 10:45am – Noon. Families are encouraged and welcome to attend! Students will then attend Advocacy and each of their four classes in the afternoon with dismissal at 3:35pm. The time schedule will be available in the Timberwolf Times.
This is a friendly reminder that ALL students have a summer reading assignment for their English class. Please be sure to have the reading completed by August 8th. Information is available on the EMHS website under Academics à Summer Reading.
School Supplies List
A detailed list of supplies needed for various classes is available on the EMHS website under Academics > School Supplies to help students and families purchase school supplies. This is not an inclusive list and families may need to purchase supplies after the first day of classes.
