Graduation Requirements

Twenty-six credits are required for graduation from East Mountain High School for students entering during the 2009-2010 school year. A single credit is awarded for completing each course in most cases. East Mountain uses a 4 x 4 block schedule that is similar to the schedule used by most colleges and universities. This means that a student can complete an entire course during either the fall term or the spring term. The exception to this is Humanities, which combines a credit in English and a credit in History and is offered as a full year course. At the senior level, the communication skills and English 12 are combined into a yearlong course called English 12 Seminar.
