A Center for the Community
Every community needs a place to gather. Here at East Mountain High School, we seek to bring people together and to make connections as a part of the learning process.
A major part of our effort to serve as a center for community is our community service program for students. Freshman, sophomore and junior year, students are required to complete 20 hours of community service annually. Through a variety of different volunteer experiences, students meet others, learn about the problems faced by our community, and know that they are capable for making a difference.
The senior service learning project builds upon this experience. Students must research a community problem, develop a partnership and give at least 40 hours of the time to making a difference. This section provides resources for students and families who are looking for more information about community service and the senior service learning project at East Mountain High School.
Community members are also encouraged to submit their volunteer opportunities and announcements for posting online.
