In our 2010-2015 Charter, we “recognized that we need to shift
from isolation among teachers to a collaborative growth model and greater use
and study of research-based methods of instruction and assessment. We will implement
a uniform and structured observation plan through Robert Marzano’s iObservation, which will provide a common language based on The
Art and Science of Teaching as well as data from observations based
upon a research-based protocol.”
Therefore, “an important part of
professional development will include improving formative assessment as a means
to improve student achievement.
This learning will be part of the professional development program. As
EMHS improves its understanding of itself through a review of curriculum and
best practices, it will work to create models (exemplars) of excellence for
students to achieve as well as teachers to teach toward.”
Therefore, EMHS seeks employees who believe that each
student has a future that includes college. The process to help students in this endeavor is constantly
evolving, so we seek those who want to continue to grow as people and
professionals.
