East Mountain High School will be accepting applications for new enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year between February 1 and March 1.

East Mountain welcomes parents and students considering EMHS for their high school education to attend “Meet EMHS,” a two-hour informational session where they can learn about our caring small-school environment and our rigorous college-preparatory academic program. “Meet EMHS” will be held Thursday, February 9 and Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6:00pm in the Community Room in Building 1 of the EMHS campus. Principal Monique Siedschlag and staff members will be on hand to give insights into the EMHS experience. No RSVP is necessary.

East Mountain High School enrolls new students through a lottery process. For the 2017-2018 school year, the Open Enrollment Period will be held from Tuesday, February 1, 2017, through Wednesday, March 1, 2017. Families must submit a Lottery Enrollment Form to EMHS during the Open Enrollment Period.

All Lottery Forms must be received by 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 1, to be considered. Siblings of currently attending EMHS students receive preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Form by the deadline.

Lottery Enrollment Forms can be completed online at the East Mountain High School website. Additionally, a paper form is available in the EMHS Main Office between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Transfer students (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) are strongly encouraged to submit an unofficial transcript, including courses in progress, with their Lottery Enrollment Form to verify accurate grade placement.

Should applicants for the 2017 – 2018 freshman class exceed allotted openings, the EMHS Lottery will be held at 5:30pm, Monday, March 6, 2017, to establish class enrollments and waiting list order. The lottery drawing for grades 10, 11 and 12 will be held at this time as well. You need not be present at the lottery drawing to be admitted to EMHS.

For more information about the lottery or enrolling in East Mountain High School, please contact Carol Wirth, Registrar, at 281-7400 x. 165 or cwirth@eastmountainhigh.net.
