East Mountain High School enrolls new students through a lottery process. For the 2019-2020 school year, the Open Enrollment Period will be held from February 1, 2019, through March 8, 2019.
Check back on this page on Feb. 1 to access the lottery form.
All Lottery Forms must be received by 4:00pm on March 8 to be considered. Siblings of currently attending EMHS students receive preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Form by the March 8 deadline.
Lottery Enrollment Forms should be completed online at the East Mountain High School website. (If unable to do so, a paper form is available in the EMHS Main Office between 8:00am and 4:00pm.) Transfer students (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) must submit an unofficial transcript, including current grades and courses in progress, in addition to their Lottery Enrollment Form to verify accurate grade placement. Unofficial transcripts, including current grades and courses in progress should be directed to Carol Wirth, Registrar via email: firstname.lastname@example.org , by fax: 505-281-4173 or in person.
Should applicants for the 2019 – 2020 freshman class exceed allotted openings, the EMHS Lottery will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, to establish class enrollments and waiting list order. The lottery drawing for grades 10, 11 and 12 will be held at this time as well. You need not be present at the lottery drawing to be admitted to EMHS.
Thursday, February 7 is “Meet EMHS” at 6:00pm, an informational session for parents and new prospective students.
Friday, March 8, 2019 is “8th Grade Day” from 9:30am- 12:30pm with tours and organized activities for new prospective students and an informational session for parents. Click here to register to attend 8th Grade Day.
