Admission Lottery

Lottery Information

East Mountain High School enrolls new students through a lottery process.  For the 2019-2020 school year, the Open Enrollment Period was held from February 1, 2019, through March 8, 2019.
By applying now, you are adding your name to the wait list.

Siblings of currently attending EMHS students receive preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Form by the March 8 deadline. At EMHS, a sibling is defined as one who shares at least one biological parent or legal guardian and lives 50% of the time in the same household as a current EMHS student.

Lottery Enrollment Forms should be completed online at the East Mountain High School website. (If unable to do so, a paper form is available in the EMHS Main Office between 8:00am and 4:00pm.)  Transfer students (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) must submit an unofficial transcript, including current grades and courses in progress, in addition to their Lottery Enrollment Form to verify accurate grade placement.  Unofficial transcripts, including current grades and courses in progress should be directed to Carol Wirth, Registrar via email: , by fax: 505-281-4173 or in person.

Should applicants for the 2019 – 2020 freshman class exceed allotted openings, the EMHS Lottery will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 19, to establish class enrollments and waiting list order.  The lottery drawing for grades 10, 11 and 12 will be held at this time as well.  You need not be present at the lottery drawing to be admitted to EMHS.
