East Mountain High School will be accepting applications for NEW student enrollment for the 2018 – 2019 school year between February 1 and March 7.
East Mountain High School enrolls new students through a lottery process. For the 2018 – 2019 school year, the Open Enrollment Period will be held from Thursday, February 1, 2018, through Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Families must submit a Lottery Enrollment Form to EMHS (either online or in person) during the Open Enrollment Period.
All Lottery Forms must be received by 4:00pm on Wednesday, March 7, to be considered. Siblings of currently attending EMHS students receive preference in the admissions process and do not have to go through the actual drawing of names. However, siblings must still submit a Lottery Form by the March 7 deadline.
Lottery Enrollment Forms can be completed online at the East Mountain High School website between February 1 and March 7. The link will be available starting on February 1. Additionally, a paper form is available in the EMHS Main Office between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Transfer students (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) are strongly encouraged to submit an unofficial transcript, including courses in progress and current grades, with their Lottery Enrollment Form to verify accurate grade placement. Transcripts may be emailed to Registrar Carol Wirth at firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to her at 505-281-4173.
Should applicants for the 2018 – 2019 school year exceed allotted openings, the EMHS Lottery for grades 9 – 12 will be held at 5:30pm, Monday, March 12, 2018, to establish class enrollments and waiting list order. You need not be present at the lottery drawing to be admitted to EMHS. Families will receive an email with their child’s accepted our waistlisted status by Tuesday, March 13.
East Mountain welcomes parents and students considering EMHS for their high school education to attend “Meet EMHS,” a two-hour informational session where they can learn about our caring small-school environment and our rigorous college-preparatory academic program. “Meet EMHS” will be held Thursday, February 8 at 6:00pm in the Community Room in Building 1 of the EMHS campus. Principal Monique Siedschlag and staff members will be on hand to give insights into the EMHS experience. No RSVP is necessary.
We are also holding an 8th Grade Day on Friday, March 2 for interested students and parents. Please RSVP through the link on our website at: http://www.eastmountainhigh.net/about-us/admission-lottery/. Prospective students will be able to interact with current students, receive a campus tour, and ask questions of teachers. 8th Grade Day will run from 9:00am-12:30pm. Lunch will be provided. Parents are invited to attend, and the Principal will be available to answer questions.
